Nicklas Akers, California Fellow and Senior Assistant Attorney General for Consumer Law in the California Department of Justice, is leading the Department’s response to price gouging, false advertising, and other unlawful and deceptive practices during the current public health crisis. Mr. Akers leads a team of attorneys and investigators responsible for prosecuting complex enforcement actions under the California Unfair Competition Law, the False Advertising Law, and other statues from initial investigation through appeal. His recent matters include People v. Heald (Corinthian Colleges) and People v. Volkswagen.
